sehra saahil jungle basti baaG wo
shola shola jalta charaag wo
parvat paani aandhi ambar aag wo
shola shola jalta charaag wo

he's desert, seashore, forest, street, garden,
he's a lamp burning ember by ember.
he's mountain, water, storm, sky, fire,
he's a lamp burning ember by ember.

har kaali raat se laRta hai wo
jalta hai aur nikharta hai
aage hi aage baRhta hai
jab tak zinda hai

he fights every dark night,
he burns and gets even better in the process.
he moves ahead further and further,
as long as he is alive.

bheetar toofaan abhi zinda hai
jazbon mein jaan abhi zinda hai
saagar khaamoshi mein bhi
saagar hi rehta hai
leheron se kehta hai
wo zinda hai

the storm is alive inside him,
there still is life in emotions.
The ocean remains ocean
even when it's serene.
It tells through the waves
that it's alive.

bheetar toofaan abhi zinda hai
jazbon mein jaan abhi zinda hai

raaton ke saaye mein hai wo chhupa
dushman na dekhega kal ki subah
kahaan se aaya wo kahaan hai jaata
na mujhko pata hai na tujhko pataa

he's hidden in the shadows of nights,
the enemy will not see the next morning.
From where he comes, and to where does he go,
neither I know, nor you know.

haan wo nihattha hi shatru ko karta nirastra
bhes badalta wo jaise ho wastra
jaR se ukhaaRega bheetar se maarega
uska iraada hai brahma ka astra

even without any arms, he disarms the enemy.
He changes his appearance as if clothing,
he'd throw (the enemy) out with the roots, and kill him from inside,
his intention itself is Brahma's weapon.
(Brahmastra or Brahma's weapon, is known to be lethal, and without a counterattack possible.)

gyaani hai wo swaabhimani wohi
tu jaantaa uski kahaani nahi
zinda hai zinda rahega wo jab tak bhi
marne ki usne hi Thaani nahi

He's wise and proud.
You don't know his story.
He is alive, and will remain alive,
unless he himself decides to die.

[This is another small reference to/inspiration from Mahabharata, in which Bhishma had the power to decide when he would die.]

Gairat gussa chaahat aur malaal wo
ziddi ziddi ziddi khayaal wo
hai jung bhi hai wo hamlaa bhi aur jaal wo
ziddi ziddi ziddi khayaal wo

He's self-respect, anger, love and grief,
he's a stubborn, stubborn thought.
He's battle, attack, and trap too,
he's a stubborn, stubborn thought.

sholon ki aankh mein rehta hai
har sachchi baat wo kehta hai
laawa sa ragon mein behta hai
wo jab tak zinda hai!

she lives in the eye of the embers,
he says everything that is true.
There is lava flowing in the veins,
as long as he is alive.

bheetar toofaan abhi zinda hai
jazbon mein jaan abhi zinda hai
saagar khamoshi mein bhi
saagar hi rehta hai
leheron se kehta hai
wo zinda hai...
