Devanagari translates 1 million words a day through AI-powered human intelligence. 'Devanagari' is the brainchild of Nakul Kundra and Himanshu Sharma, they envisioned it to make content accessible to all. His aim was to remove linguistic barriers by building strong relationships with over a billion Indians by interacting in their languages.

A recent Google study states that 98 percent of Indian Internet users access the Internet either exclusively or in the Indian language along with English. 45 percent of local language users prefer to access content in regional languages ​​only. 63 percent of local language users would like to study exclusively in regional languages. It reflects the potential and expectations of indigenous content in the Indian context.

Devanagari's platform combines AI and human-powered translation with machine learning. They are powered by Kutumbh, a community of 5000+ native language speakers and translators capable of making translations up to 5 times faster, cheaper and more accurate. The company envisages putting Indian languages ​​on a single platform.

What did Devanagari co-founder Himanshu say?

Speaking on the need for seamless translation service Himanshu Sharma, Co-Founder, Devanagari said, "With over 1200 dialects and 22 regional languages, India has a huge market for language translation. With Devanagari, we aim to help brands and individuals reach a wider audience." He has already helped some of the renowned e-commerce, BFSI and Ed-tech companies to communicate with their audience in regional languages. Devanagari also raised $600,000 from Venture Catalyst, Inflection Point Ventures and other co-investors.
