Hello everyone, Today on our Smithposium we followed Arthur Rimbaud into Paris armed with the poem The Drunken Boat. This poem was greatly admired by Samuel Beckett; he translated it into English in 1932. I thought you might like to see the only transcript, somewhat charred in a library fire. It was published in a small edition in 1976 and I was gifted a copy by my Irish promoter. It’s a very vigorous translation. I send you all good wishes and hope you will consider subscribing in the future. All good wishes, Patti |
