💅 If you still haven't given in to the French manicure revival, good news: It's gotten a très chic makeover that doesn't look like you went rogue with a bottle of Wite-Out.
That's right, winning our very unofficial gold is Norwegian Olympian Sturla Holm Lægreid's decision to air his relationship drama on the world stage. For those who haven't been consumed by the Olympics' most unexpected cheating scandal (or watched Nick Kroll's spot-on impression), buckle up: On Tuesday, after winning bronze, Lægreid tearfully told reporters that he'd "made the biggest mistake of my life" and cheated on his girlfriend three months earlier (the words "Mensa" and "dumb as a rock" were also used). Now, if you're thinking the post-race flood of emotions got to him, not quite. During a press conference afterward, Lægreid explained he'd publicly confessed hoping his ex would "see what she really means to me" in his attempt to "get her back." But it seemingly backfired. She told a Norwegian outlet it'd be "hard to forgive" him, adding "I did not choose to be put in this position, and it hurts to have to be in it." That might explain why Lægreid now says he "deeply regret[s]" his public couples therapy session and "will not answer any further questions about this." Sure.
American Girl, meet American Woman. On Wednesday, the iconic doll brand announced its first novel for adults, starring 25-year-old Samantha Parkington. Set in the 1920s, the story finds your favorite plucky, plaid-wearing doll living in NYC and championing women's suffrage — until she discovers her inheritance and dreamy Mount Bedford home have been stolen. Between this and the Gossip Girl sequel of our dreams, we couldn't help but wonder: What other millennial icons deserve a grown-up sequel?
Rugrats' Susie Carmichael, who moved to NYC and has a — shocker — bustling Broadway career and a couple Tony Awards to prove it. Oh, and she lives in the same apartment building as her best frenemy, Angelica Pickles, who naturally works as a notoriously harsh theater critic.
The Parent Trap's Hallie Parker and Annie James. After successfully reuniting their parents, the now-25-year-old twins have a very successful transatlantic matchmaking service, where one of the signature singles events is a camping trip (sans lizards). The first client? Three-time divorcée Meredith Blake.
Daria's Daria Morgendorffer, who lives down the block from Jane, in Boston. When the two aren't shopping for new combat boots, Daria works as the world's most unenthusiastic meteorologist — beloved by locals for her deadpan weather reports and disdain for her aggressively cheery coanchors.
Mean Girls' Janis Ian. After divorcing Kevin Gnapoor, Janis goes on an ayahuasca retreat in Costa Rica, where she realizes she has a big (mutual) lesbian crush on a fellow attendee. Ms. Norbury officiates the wedding, Damian's the ring bearer, and Gretchen Wieners caters — so obviously, the menu is all Toaster Strudels.
American Girl's Felicity Merriman,who, in the humble opinion of these Felicity owners, is equally worthy of the grown-up novel treatment, thank you very much.
Teyana Taylor and her daughters stepped out in perfectly coordinated Thom Browne looks — and we have questions. Namely, how is it possible to be this cool in matching outfits? And why did we have to wear floral leggings?

And what we got? Possibly the year's biggest surprise hit. The nine-episode series chronicles the all-too-brief romance of '90s American royalty: John F. Kennedy Jr. (Paul Anthony Kelly) and Carolyn Bessette (Sarah Pidgeon) — from the somewhat fictionalized chance meeting between the Calvin Klein "VIP whisperer" and the Kennedy at a fundraising gala to their fatal 1999 plane crash. Expect appearances from Jackie Kennedy Onassis (Naomi Watts) and Caroline Kennedy (Grace Gummer), the right Birkin, and plenty of parallels drawn between Carolyn and two estranged members of an actual royal family: Princess Diana and Meghan Markle. Grab your headbands.
