This Month's Featured News TL;DR: Why Reddit is the New Growth Stock to BeatBy Nathan Reiff. Published: 12/19/2025.
In Brief - Reddit's revenue and user base have grown at a fast pace in recent quarters.
- Strong performance internationally has helped to fuel these gains, thanks to add-on features like translation tools and more.
- The company's average revenue per user remains low compared to rivals, suggesting that Reddit could continue to boost its appeal to advertisers going forward.
Reddit Inc. (NYSE: RDDT) is ending the year on a high note, having returned about 37% in 2025 after a rally that had appeared to stall in the fall. The content-sharing platform is showing signs of rapid expansion: its user base, engagement metrics, and earnings have all accelerated. At a time when major social media rivals such as Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ: META) — and even smaller peers like Pinterest Inc. (NYSE: PINS) — have struggled to outperform the market, Reddit appears to be gaining momentum. Elon Musk's Starlink project is generating major speculation ahead of a potential IPO that some analysts believe could reach a historic $100 billion valuation. According to James Altucher, there may be a smart "backdoor" way for everyday investors to position ahead of that event without needing traditional IPO access — and he says it can be done for under $100. He's also sharing a free ticker tied to this trend for anyone who wants to take a closer look. Click here to learn more What might 2026 hold for the aggregation site, and can it remain the growth stock to beat? Examining user engagement, advertising momentum, and avenues for revenue expansion sheds light on Reddit's potential. User Engagement Fuels Potential Growth One of the year's brightest developments for Reddit has been its engagement gains. The company closed the third quarter with an impressive 116 million daily active uniques (DAUQ) — users who visit reddit.com, open a related app, or otherwise engage with its platforms in a 24-hour period — a rise of about 20% year-over-year (YOY). Weekly active uniques (WAUQ) grew at a similar pace. International DAUQ grew roughly 31% YOY, outpacing overall engagement gains thanks to advances in markets such as France, Brazil, and India. Reddit's business model relies on scale, and growth in DAUQ and WAUQ strengthens its position with advertisers, who account for the bulk of the company's sales. Another underexploited revenue opportunity is the company's data. With roughly 3.8 billion site visits in September alone, Reddit holds significant user-data assets that could become increasingly valuable amid the AI boom. Revenue and Earnings Climb, But ARPU Trails Competitors As engagement has risen, so has revenue. In the most recent quarter, revenue reached $585 million, up more than two-thirds year-over-year, driven in part by a 74% increase in international sales. Earnings per share (EPS) jumped about 400% as both the top and bottom lines comfortably beat estimates. Guidance for the final quarter placed revenue between $655 million and $665 million. Measured on a per-user basis, average revenue per user (ARPU) was $5.04 in the last quarter, up 41% YOY but still well below many competitors — roughly one-third of Meta's ARPU. That gap highlights a clear monetization runway: Reddit can grow ARPU, but it will require more than just user growth. To boost ARPU, Reddit can better leverage its distinctive content, active communities, and product tools such as auto-translation and indexing — features that should be attractive to advertisers seeking diverse, engaged audiences. AI and Human Content Balance Key to 2026 Outlook Analysts are generally optimistic about Reddit heading into the new year, with 18 of 29 assigning it a Buy or equivalent rating. After its year-end rally, upside may be constrained in the near term — the consensus price target is $230.28, a level Reddit is approaching. How the company navigates artificial intelligence will be critical. So far, Reddit has limited visible AI integration on the user-facing side, and the platform's emphasis on human-generated content has helped broaden its appeal. If Reddit can maintain a balance between strong community-driven content and useful AI-enabled tools — while continuing to improve monetization — it could sustain growth and further price appreciation into 2026 and beyond.
